What type of vote was granted?
1812 the Cadiz Constitution Acceptance of universal indirect male suffrage (for those aged 21 and over)
1814 The return of absolutism with the reign of Fernando VII  
1820 The constitution of 1812 becomes operational once more Indirect universal male suffrage
1823 A new period of absolutism under Fernando VII  
1834 Royal statute during the regency of Queen Christina Suffrage based on wealth, only those who paid the hacienda (a type of tax) could vote (which was just 1% of the population)
1845 Constitution of the reign of Isabelle II New electoral system based on wealth, (those who paid a specific amount of the hacienda) which was a little less restrictive than the previous system
1869 the Constitution of the Revolutionary Six Years Universal male suffrage
1876 Constitution of the Bourbon Restoration Wealth-based suffrage (only 5% of the population could vote)
1890 A new electoral law is brought in under the existing Constitution Universal male suffrage for those over 25 years of age
1923 Dictatorship of Primo de Rivera  
1931 the Republican Constitution Universal suffrage (men and women over 21 years of age)
1939 The dictatorship of General Franco Universal suffrage (men and women over 18 years of age)
