THE HISTORY FORUM

FORUM GUIDELINES

  • Students must register with the forum to post an item. After they have registered they will receive an email automatically. This will prove that the system is functioning properly.

  • Entries on the forum must not be more than 200 words.

  • Any language can be used

FORUM PROGRAMME

  • 2 Feb - 15 Feb discussion and post answers to questions 1 and/or 2

  • 16 Feb - 22 Feb discuss and review answers from all students

  • 23 Feb - 7 Mar discussion and post answers to questions 3 and/or 4

  • 8 Mar - 14 Mar discuss and review answers from all students

FORUM QUESTIONS

  1. History is about the past. It does not tell us anything about the present.

  2. Wars can be avoided and always should be. Are these statements true?

  3. How important is the individual in shaping history, and what alternative explanations might there be? Think of a practical example from what you have studied.

  4. 'You can fool all of the people some of the time. You can fool some of the people all of the time. But you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.' Is manipulation all-powerful?

COMENIAD PRIZE

An international panel of judges will be meeting in Edinburgh 4-9 May to decide on the best answer from each country. A prize will be awarded to the winners.
