Heroes and Cultural Identity Project

Project meeting: Nitra, Slovakia, 21-26 October 2008

SUMMARY OF DECISIONS MADE AT THE PROJECT MEETING

There will be a new competition round (content being on either heroes or cultural identity)

The agreed deadlines were as follows:

  • Last date for submission of video for competition: 6 March
  • Voting completed by 23 March
  • Results of voting announced on 15 April in Rome

Rome meeting would be over three mornings: 15-17 April.

First session

1. Introductions. A student from each country gives greetings in their own language.

2. Teacher presentations on project (6 x up to 5 minutes each)

3. Student presentations (two per country up to 5 minutes each)
Multimedia presentations would use YouTube (except Turkey)

4. Presentation of prizes

Second session

Theme - the benefits and challenges of the project.

Each partner to produce a 200 word summary on the benefits and challenges that have been encountered during the project.

Third session

Themes - evaluating and disseminating the project.

John will circulate a draft questionnaire to evaluate the project. The final questionnaire returned by 23 March.

The website would be the main 'final product'. Between now and Rome we would be adding additional items:

  • Results of students' questionnaire
  • Results of teachers' questionnaire
  • Student presentations for new round of voting
  • Teachers' presentations on experience of the project at national level

Partners could contact their national agencies to see if they could put up links to our website

Other issues

Cultural identity puzzle will use English words (though place names are allowed)
